Update on continued modernization of the site:
In the next week we are going to be introducing content filtering. The main objective here is to allow people to choose what content they want to view on stock specific boards. A secondary goal is transparency on what is visible and what isn't.
What this means specifically going forward is that staff will be the only people that can delete messages from the stock specific boards. These are mostly going to be threats of physical violence, extreme vulgarity, etc. Mods will have the ability to add tags to a post (personal attack, off topic, spam, etc.) and then individuals choose which messages they'd like to see by filtering the tag. If you want a clean board with pretty predominant discussion of the company/stock, then you would apply the majority of the filters. When you are viewing the board, the message(s) will not be displayed. If you click on a link to a filtered post, it will alert you that it has a content filter that you disabled and give you a choice whether you want to view the message or not. On the flip side, if you want to watch two anonymous Members trade insults back and forth, you can do that as well.
Mods will be tagging messages they feel fall under the specific content category. As with deleted posts, Members can request that a Moderator tag be reviewed by Admin. Members can continue to report messages to Admin and staff will decide if the post should be tagged, deleted or otherwise left alone.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
