Surface temperatures have increased....but that quick bump is mainly due to birth rates rising dramatically in the 60's. They are falling now.

It's just more people. But it really doesn't matter if the surface temperature increases. The planet/nature takes care of itself. Humanity would take a hit....but that's not a bad thing. The other thing to note is the ignorance that many have with regards to frequency and measurement. Humans in general are a horrible species. The fewer.... the better.
