Lawmakers could pass a bill requiring the DEA to take cannabis off Schedule I within a fixed 90-day window, triggering an FDA review of its medical usefulness. That move would clear the path for insurance coverage and allow hospitals and major pharmacies such as Walgreens, CVS, Costco to dispense regulated cannabis products sourced from established multi-state operators such as Marimed (MRMD).
