I think what you found was an aberration and I'll bet a simple non-Ai mode Google search would have clarified the issue.

No. As others here have reported, if you don't enable "AI mode"--and the point you're missing here is that I don't want to do that--you will get the "AI Overview" stuff. If there was an option to disable that, I would. But it just draws on a few of the links it coughs up below.

Now YOU could disable "AI mode", and then you'd see how Google works without it. The "overviews" began to appear four or five months ago. I've been explaining for two days what you get in "non-AI mode". You get the "overviews".
