I am not sure what you are refering to I don't recall using the term AUM
and as for ranching being subsidized there are limits and requirementss.
Usually protect laand so as to safeguard the environment. Also crop
insurance however when one speaks of a ranch it seldom has row crops
such oats, corn and beans. They have grazing land for herds. Sometimes they may grow some hay
but often their soil wil not support that. Many ranches are 10,000 to 25,000 acres ot more.
