Price of beef is up due to the lowest supply in 75 years due to drought
The time to get a cow to breeding age is longer than hogs and chickens
cows don't become fertile until 15 months old and then the farfmer/rancher
wants to get all of them to come in fairly close to certain time depending upon
their operation. Then getting the calf upo to 1200 lbs takes many more months
depending upon the breed and feed can take as long as 2 years.
