Data Centers are arguably the most awkward component of any loT platform. Many platforms have been halted in there tracks, then ultimately cancelled because they were so politically polarized by all sections of the community that was to receive the Data Center.
My mayor here for example is facing expulsion from office from his most loyal followers . He's dug in understanding the importance of Data Centers but others are horrified at the amount of water they consume, then there's the cost. Technology will become more efficient running much cooler but they're still getting larger Data Centers because of those efficiencies! They just don't come cheap.
I hunch water is why NEOM has hit a lull in construction being so scarce over there. The mechanics of Real Estate tokenization are sound and already proven in places like Europe. Here is the real pivot a regulatory framework in the US is not here yet even though Canada has one. Trump has let that regulation slide for whatever reason. Regulation is key to the US adoption of IofT platforms and it is anticipated that Trump will regulate but when is the big question hanging in the balance until then.
But why are we talking about water for a data center?
Maybe you can explain why
Water is one hurdle, money unsurprisingly is quite another, arguably the biggest hurdle for small cities that MTi is targeting.
