You have to understand the construction process regarding residential and commercial applications. It seems the new target is asbesteos rebatement. From that link...:
ACECO’s Washington, D.C., asbestos-abatement license, which was revoked in 2022 as reported by The Washington Post, could affect compliance.
There license was never revoked. They removed it on their own accord voluntarily.
And from a differnet regurgitation link:
But reporting by the Post found that ACECO is not licensed to abate asbestos in DC. “Our understanding is that as of August 18, 2022, Aceco LLC is no longer engaged in asbestos abatement services,” a DC Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection spokesperson told The Post. “The company’s asbestos abatement license in the District of Columbia was voluntarily canceled by the owner on that date.”
But what both links fail to disclose is that ACECO does not have to be licensed if they are not the ones doing the asbestos abatement. They used to be a stand alone business regarding such. But no more. That is what subs and 1099's are for. A lot has changed in the building industry over the past 50 years with the major sub contractor shift beginning in the late 80's/early 90's. Everybody is a sub now unfortunatley-for the most part. If you can find an outfit that has been gigging for years and is standalone for a lot of the work...use them. I doubt you find any though, sadly.
