Very true. I live in a small town and there are 3 grocery stores, Walmart being one so I shop there a lot. I know a few of the people there and i can think that maybe its a good thing to get a small wage for working there. Like the door greeters are usually older and on socail security so tey want to make just enough that there benefits don't get cut and if they don't get that much in benefits in the first place, they would probably be on SNAP anyway. Also I didn't realize this but students working part time can qualify for SNAP,easier if they have a child.
Also years ago I was talking to a WMT employee in the sporting goods department, at retirement age and he had just gotten his statemnt of his stock ownership in the company- this was mid t late "90's- but the guy had accumulated just under $100,000 in stock in the company and back then that was some decent money. He was pretty proud of that. I'm sure the same can be said for a lot of companies and employees but that never gets brought up in the SNAP conversation. Wealth can get concentrated, but it can also be spread around at the same time. The commies and the socialists don't look at that sie of the equation. Don't take me for a bleeding heart liberal- far from it.
