kona , this just makes the ionq play easier and earlier than many think. intel's been on this journey and likely has the brains for it in house. also, likely working on quantum sim/etc for such work for a while.....like in a library look up to rephase the photon? eg. if they make it smaller to pass the junctions and dust fields, they need to know how it should look to reorient/put in the correction or echo factor which makes it go right.
i saw an 8 demo a few years back that might have been related. wags.
