My suggestions for the possible uses of spider silk, in a couple of my recent posts, included no estimations or discussions of cost, only of utilization. I was doing nothing more than offering creative suggestions, ideas in addition to textiles and other obvious uses.

Someone here decided to insult me by telling me "You may need to take a remedial economics class" even though I hadn't brought up pricing when I posted suggestions of how, imaginatively, spider silk may be used in the future. I realize some of my suggestions (many came from other sources) might be unrealistic, some may only be possible many years into the future, and some may never happen.
This is a forum for discussing companies, their offerings, and their stock prices. I can ignore an insult, but insults should be substantiated, and other contributors here countered the errors of a couple of the insulter's statements. While the insulter suggested I enhance my knowledge of economics, he/she stated "KBLB's silks will likely cost around a hundred dollars a pound" without offering an explanation of how he/she came to that conclusion, or speculating on what future prices might be. In an economics class we might study how costs sometimes decline with technological advances. What do you think the price of spider silk could be in 5 years, or in 10 years? Guessing what we might see in the future, it's impossible to know today where future costs of this new technology will sit.

Televisions:
The Westinghouse Color TV, with a 15" screen, the first color television, was introduced in 1954 for $1,295.
That's nearly $16,000 adjusted for inflation.
Just before 2001 a 42" television costs $10-15,000.
Today you can buy a 53" TV for $300. Adjusted for inflation, that was about $25 in 1954.

Solar panels:
Since the 1970s, the price of solar panels has dropped by more than 99 per cent.
Since 2000 the manufacturing cost of solar panels has declined from over $5 per watt to about 20¢.

Spider silk? 😁 Who knows!
