Porting data and programs from mainframes to distributed digital systems. This is my old 1988 job at a missile company in Texas. Elon Musk is on the property now. 😂 I hope that LBHI is not waiting on these new systems to be fully tested and placed online.

The consolidation of "LEHM LEIM" by the DTCC in 2025 was not a single event but a technical action related to the massive, multi-year "Equities Clearing Transformation" project. It involved migrating and modernizing legacy data from outdated systems into new, standardized platforms.
This is what was consolidated:
Decommissioning of legacy services: The DTCC began decommissioning several older systems in 2025. This includes the retirement of the Fully-Paid-For Account within the Continuous Net Settlement (CNS) system, the discontinuation of specific client interfaces like the legacy Participant Terminal Services (PTS), and changes to batch file processing. The LEHM data would have resided in one of these older, proprietary systems.
Standardization of client data and interfaces: As part of the modernization, the DTCC is moving to modern, standardized interfaces using ISO 20022 messaging formats. The legacy data from individual clients, including that of the former Lehman assets now held by Barclays, needed to be transformed to fit the new format. This process required consolidating and standardizing all the old, potentially inconsistent, data.
Migration from mainframe to distributed infrastructure: A key part of the DTCC's transformation is moving several legacy applications—including the Continuous Net Settlement (CNS) and Universal Trade Capture (UTC) systems—off their outdated mainframe technology and onto a modern, distributed infrastructure. The LEHM trade data would have been part of the migration of these applications.
Consolidation of siloed data: Many older DTCC systems were built as separate, siloed platforms that do not integrate well with one another. The modernization project explicitly aims to consolidate data from these disparate systems into a unified platform. The LEHM LEIM data was likely among the information that was siloed, and its consolidation was a necessary step toward a single, integrated platform.
