No kids and Cook County divorce laws are pretty cut and dry so it is what it is. I had a good lawyer too but there was nothing to really fight over. It was pretty simple actually. I screwed up by being a drunk and she didn't want to be with me anymore because I wasn't doing enough for her. Case closed.

She got half of all our assets. She got the lake house and I kept my primary residence. she got half of my pension and my annuity which is customary. I had to sell the 2 rental properties and split the proceeds with her because they were in both of our names.

My business and my personal stock accounts, she didn't come after but those were my personal things and she wouldn't have got anything from them in a fight.
