Chile’s government has formally submitted a US$2.8 billion tax credit bill to the Chamber of Deputies, aiming to catalyse demand for domestically produced green hydrogen and its derivatives. The legislation—tabled on August 19 by the Ministry of Finance—would distribute credits via six competitive auctions between 2025 and 2030, targeting companies that purchase green hydrogen, ammonia, or e-methanol from newly built national projects.
