What I've done in the past was to paste to one of my full word processors.. remember those?

Word still exists. And I thought of going to it, but lost the energy to do so.

I wonder if you could use the [ pre][ /pre] feature. That does change what you're writing to text.

(Had to add a couple of spaces to make that work.)
