Trump is ‘humiliated’: Sir Bill Browder reacts to 'weak' meeting with Putin
Times Radio
Aug 16, 2025 The Trump Report Sir Bill Browder joins Times Radio’s Maddie Hale for an in depth analysis of Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin’s “humiliating” meeting where the US President left Alaska without a ceasefire, commitment to slap Russia with further sanctions or a peace deal being made.
When asked did he think Trump could say to Zelensky, 'This is the deal...' Browder says, 'No, because there is no proposal on the table. What Trump thinks, or says, has no consequence. It doesn't matter to Putin. Putin is not interested in land swaps, or in just taking some Ukraine land. Trump would agree to almost anything. Putin has put no proposal on the table to end the war. He wants all of Ukraine, nothing less. He knows if he makes a deal to end the war he will lose power, and that if he loses power he will die. He doesn't want the war to end. He is in it for his own physical survival. Trump knows Putin's position, he's just trying to meander his way politically through it. Trump on his return will feel humiliated. He will try to gaslight the American people, but nobody will buy it. He's at a low point and will have to try to figure out what to do. There is $300 billion of Russian money frozen and in world where finances are constrained Putin should be paying for his war.'
That said, Browder says, the only way the war will end is when Putin feels a boot on his throat. US and Europe could cripple Russia economically, or militarily. They haven't yet.
