The phase 2b trial had 300 patients enrolled (albeit at 2 dose levels), missed on the primary endpoint with no favorable trend, and was not statistically significant on mortality
best of luck to the purchasing company if indeed they are running a smaller phase 3 and hope to have success (yes the patients enrolled in the US fared better in the 2b but if they are using that efficacy size in powering assumptions then..

in 5 min of googling I can see why the company agreed to be bought for a pittance (again not the point of "the exercise" you said so who cares
