I don’t understand the logic of these tariffs to be honest. In general tariffs and protection lead to contracting economic activity. Trade and expanding economic opportunity have created huge opportunities for literally billions of people in the history of mankind. Political choices may not always distribute that opportunity across an entire population. Trump is making this wealth distribution across the population even worse.
