Australia has joined dozens of other countries in demanding an immediate end to the Israel-Gaza war.
Foreign Minister Penny Wong signed a joint statement criticising Israel’s bombardment of Gaza and handling of aid distribution in the strip.
The document also condemns Hamas’ treatment of hostages.
The Netanyahu government has lashed out at the statement, dismissing the statement as being ‘disconnected from reality’.
Meanwhile, the IDF has expanded its military operations in the strip, deploying troops and vehicles into Deir al Balah for the first time.
Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa has called on the international community to take more action.
