As I've said before, I was one of the original believers. I'm a pre-bankruptcy WaMu investor and post-bankruptcy vulture. I've been here from the beginning. When AZ and Bopfan first gave us hope that there would be something more to come, I read through their arguments and thought they made sense. But over time, as more and more of their predictions failed to materialize and more of their predictions were disproven and as they kept moving the goalposts when the predictions failed, I began to dig deeper.
Among the things I began to consider were the ancillary comments and statements by other believers, things that made me question the mindset of the people who were still claiming that there is more to come. As I began to realize that most of these believers are rabid conspiracy theorists and reality-challenged cultists, I started to accept that the belief in more to come was just that: a conspiracy theory.
As with all cult-driven conspiracy theories, in this one there are multiple threads of the theory, promoted by different cult leaders, and those different theories and their followers compete for supremacy in the space. Disagreeing gets one labeled a blasphemer, which opens one up to being given derisive nicknames, being ordered to shut up and leave the space, being accused of having ulterior motives, of working for "the enemy", and of being out of touch with reality.
