On the GoFundYourself episode from a couple of weeks ago, a young fellow representing a non-profit called Race for Kids made his plea for $ 1 million to expand their program. As of today, there were 80 views on YouTube. Rory's ventures killing it, as always.
When the episode aired, I sent an email to the address that appears on the Race for Kids web site. My message bounced back as undeliverable.
I then filled out the form on the Race for Kids web site, asking for information about their organization (as a non-profit they must make their financial statements available upon request). I also asked about the fee that was paid to GFY (last I heard it was $ 25k to appear) and whether there was any notable response to the appearance. BTW, the web site accepts donations, but there is no mention of them being an IRS approved 501(c)(3) non-profit that would make donations tax deductible by the donor.
My request for more information was ignored.
Seems very sketchy. Very on-brand for anyone associated with Rory. Or David Meltzer for that matter.
