Agree he hasn't a clue about how most things work and it seems Bessent and Miran are as big believers in the power of tariffs as he is ..

Bessent and who? The Commerce Secretary is the ghastly Howard Lutnick. The other player is Peter Navarro, who really IS a huge fan of tariffs, but has been pretty much sidelined by now.

I think it'll be interesting to see what Bessent says once he's no longer Treasury Secretary. Because he, unlike many other members of this administration, has genuine qualifications. He also seems to be pretty snotty, and so probably thought he could easily persuade Trumpty to take his direction. And now he's stuck dealing with instructions and policies that change from day to day, and make no sense whatsoever.

Does he feel he has to stay? Will Trump fire him? So much suspense.
