Yep, need for more situational awareness, and more balance involvement et al is why i said it makes sense. Read an article on it once. A friend used to constantly complain about bikes on same sidewalks i tread too, i said, fair enough, they are not supposed to be there, just don't fret so much about it. Walk fairly straight and trust they will do the right thing. He was a bit of a worrier, and did have more physical problems than i. He died while i was in Canada in April. Was sorry i missed his going.

There aren't all that many doing the wrong thing here, but i have had a couple of close
shaves. Good for you giving warnings, that's thoughtful. And i've never heard one here.
