John McCain was caught on camera singing, "bomb, bomb, bomb, Iran" during his presidential campaign, ages ago. Various right wing hawks like John Bolton, Mitt Romney, Mitch McConnell, have been trying to drag us into war with Iran for decades.
You're missing a "bomb". This is the song:
McCain actually sang the line on camera, and then was embarrassed. I happened to be watching TV at the time.
So you don't think Bibi wanted us to bomb Iran? And didn't ask every US president for the past 20 years and more to do that? Because it's something on which there's general agreement.
The US and UK overthrew Mossadegh for what is now believed to have been to guarantee the continued free flow of oil. Was that to please Israel, too?
What?? The UK controlled the oil company that dealt in Iranian oil. It was the usual colonialist story. But the Shah promised to play nicely with the UK and with us, and so we returned him to power. Mosaddegh was imprisoned for a few years, and then kept in house arrest for the rest of his life. But the Middle East being what is it, he could have had a worse time. He was deposed in 1953.
So why should I be interested in an article written in 2011 for a publication I've never encountered before?
