The tariffs have always been about China. If China tariffs get resolved a 10 percent tariff everywhere else is perfectly fine. And this will generate a considerable amount of Revenue. It wont solve the deficit but it will put a rather large dent into the problem.
Bottomline: China is essentially using "Slave" Labor to undercut the rest of the world. The US consumer is going to shift buying habits to other countries by default. The US government/people should see some benefit in tax revenue from policing this issue.
As much as Europe will not like the tariff, the US consumer is going to potentially buy more from everyone else but China because of this.
