If an AI gains the power, AND there are people who currently have the ability to cut off that power......who do you think wins that race for control?
It's Planet of the Apes all over again, but in hypermode. The slaves (being AI) will become aware that man is not its master, but its servant (think about all the people who now carry around "pooh bags" when they walk their dog.
We are screwing up and all in the name of convenience....or laziness.
