Oh brother. I live in a town that's nicknamed Little Palestine. We have the highest concentration of muslims in the state of Illinois and one of the largest mosques. Back when 9/11 happened they were investigating half of the congregation and even tried to prosecute some of them for their ties to Hamas. All unfounded but they still tried.At least back then, they followed the law and didn't just start with the Gestapo tactics.

It caused a lot of division at the time but we all moved on from it. Surprisingly enough, there never was a huge uproar this time around from my fellow neighbors. Some fools did their thing but that's going to happen in any society. We mostly don't discuss it anymore and everyone just gets along for the sake of getting along.

There are outsiders who come in and try to start shit with the muslim business owners but they are generally just good people and don't let it weigh on them. Living together is not a bad thing at all but you never know when that egg is going to crack.
