I’m not what you’d call a “liberal” by today’s definition but then, neither are most of the people being called liberals. I’ll explain this to you in terms used in a time before we had to start worrying we might destroy some kid’s sense of self worth by telling them the truth: Charlie Kirk is taking advantage of a segment of a generation that was raised to think they were special when they weren’t. These same kids are now listening to a fuckwad Fascist sociopath like Kirk because they’re basically fucking idiots with no knowledge or understanding of how our government is supposed to function, who don’t have the brain power or attention span to pay attention to detail, who hear what they want to hear and see what they want to see, and fuck anything that contradicts or challenges their delusional, distorted view of reality. What you’re calling “critical thinking” is what my generation calls “common sense” because critical thinking IS common sense. It used to be common knowledge that getting as many perspectives on a given problem, dilemma or issue is how you usually come to the best solution to that problem. It used to be common sense AND COMMON COURTESY to hear someone out, to give a little consideration to what they were saying. This is how America became the superpower that it’s become…AND NOW IT IS IN VERY REAL DANGER OF COLLAPSING UNDER THE ENORMOUS WEIGHT OF THE IGNORANCE, DISRESPECT AND DISDAIN FOR OUR RULE OF LAW BY DONALD TRUMP, HIS ENABLERS IN CONGRESS AND ELECTED OFFICES AT EVERY LEVEL OF EVERY GOVERNMENT ACROSS THIS COUNTRY, AND BY FASCIST, SELF-SERVING SACKS OF SHIT LIKE CHARLIE KIRK AND THE REST OF THE RADICAL RIGHT/MAGA MEDIA WHO PROFIT BY LEVERAGING THE IGNORANCE OF THEIR SUPPORTERS.

There was a time in this country where members of opposing political parties and points of view could respectfully agree to disagree. They could battle it out in the halls of Congress but at the end of the day, go out and have dinner together. DEMOCRACY DEMANDS DECORUM. IT DEMANDS COMMON COURTESY. IT DEMANDS SHOWING CONSIDERATION FOR AN OPPOSING POINT OF VIEW. IT DEMANDS HEARING DIFFERING PERSPECTIVES. WHEN YOU’RE IN CONGRESS, YOU’RE THERE TO REPRESENT THE PEOPLE WHO SENT YOU THERE. WHEN YOU INSTANTLY DISMISS OR VICIOUSLY ATTACK ANYONE WHO CHALLENGES YOUR POINT OF VIEW, YOU ARE BETRAYING YOUR CONSTITUENTS, YOU ARE BETRAYING YOUR OATH, YOU ARE BETRAYING YOUR COUNTRY. ANY MEDIA PERSONALITY WHO PROFITS BY POISONING PEOPLE WITH LIES AND DISTORTIONS OF THE TRUTH IS THE REAL ENEMY. FUCK WORRYING ABOUT RUSSIA AND CHINA. I WORRY ABOUT THE FUCKING MORONS WHO THINK TRUMP SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO FINISH HIS ATTACK ON OUR DEMOCRACY. AND CHARLIE KIRK IS ONE OF THEM.

When you defend a man who’s deliberately lying to his listeners and viewers, you are making yourself a part of the problem. STOP LISTENING TO MOTHERFUCKERS WHO WANT TO DESTROY WHAT THIS COUNTRY HAS STOOD FOR SINCE IT’S FOUNDING.
