Seems the most logical, to me.

But when I read the patents, the verbiage of the first one feels chemical based. And the second(continuation submission) same chemical verbiage, it includes more mechanical operations.

Gotta wonder if the USPTO wouldn’t allow certain mechanical aspects and requested that it be omitted from the first patent. Maybe the patent issuers didn’t know that it could work, and Dr. Burba said, ok, can I prove and then submit a reissue of the patent. Then US Magnesium processing of solids into liquids came along and validated the mechanical operations which supported the chemical.

The only thing I didn’t validate here is timelines between all of these transactions.
