You cite an article from 21 April?? That was a LIFETIME ago!! We shall see what Trump comes up with tomorrow.

But my guess is that all this--the meeting in Switzerland, and whatever he'll say happened there--was prompted quite simply by his own fear that he was losing his people. And that maybe he HAD gone too far. So he sent Bessent off for talks. Now they say the talks went well.

We'll see. Though I think Bessent is willing to play the role of a flunky of a Roman emperor given to murdering people who criticize him, I don't think he'd lie about a nonexistent agreement of some kind.

But I expect this will really be yet another concept of an agreement.
