Did you actually read the column? It seems like you didn't.

The column isn't about how I feel. The USA has demonstrated to the world that our word cannot be trusted past the next election. That's a paradigm shift. Sure the next president (AOC? That's fucking hilarious.) will convince our (former) NATO allies that we're all friends again? That the next US election won't bring back a cabal of radical, white christian nationalists to run roughshod over any agreements they thought we had among us?

Joe Biden went to Europe and declared that the United States was back. And their response was, "Yes, but for how long?" Now they have their answer.
