I have no idea, but I know this is not a coincidence. Egan, for some reason, felt confident about selling the domain name at this time. I'm guessing he waited until there was some certainty about "theglobe.com" coming back into the spotlight with upcoming PRs, etc. People will all be searching theglobe.com once this is announced, so he was able to get a better price on the domain. It's what I would have done, but what do I know.
