Pfizer pays a dividend of 6.96% annual yield. So even when it goes down a little investors still make money.
You also said it had nothing in the future brewing.
Wrong, wrong, wrong.
They are prepped to do some cancer fighting.
Talk about cash for the long haul if even a few of the 8 drugs in the works does well.

Shares are at a low now, plus its a healthy company with a long future that pays great dividends.
Thats the type of investment smart investors are looking for and is the reasons those with millions of shares are interested in a buyout for shares if its a company like Pfizer.

Last comment about us taking our profit and just buying shares. That is a dumb suggestion, dumb, dumb, dumb. To invest hundreds of thousands to a few million dollars of cash into PFE one would certainly affect share price. A buyout for shares is an instantaneous transfer at a fixed price. Definitely saves money and time (and my time has a good bit of value to me).
