Wow. This is bad, really bad. Not world shaking but still..

My old Sunday hockey league I had to retire from because I moved some years ago, what I just found out shocked me.
The league would have at least 5 tourneys in Canada during the season all the way out to n. of Buffalo New York. The final two were always right after Christmas during break and the last after our playoffs were over. Because the weather usually warms up by then April/May it would be a wild run. Hockey, golf, baseball, poker, poker parties ... those are two different things in my league AND casinos and topless bars.

The biggest challenge was staying sober for Hockey. I did casinos because 30 dollar lap dances don't do anything for me. Anyways, it was always a blast. I could barely move for a week in the aftermath.

Now the news I just got was that the rink and Canadian hockey organization decided they weren't going to invite any American teams for the final tourney. Our league was informed 3 weeks ago and our secretary had sent out emails which I just found in my spam folder. I'm apparently still on the list but 1200 miles away so I'm not commuting any time soon.
That cuts their tourney down but will probably have no trouble filling it with other worthy Canadian teams.

So, thank you cheeto mussolini and muskrat for even effecting extra curricular Senior Hockey beer leagues.

Makes me very sad, but I don't blame them.
