If I didn't date an Irish chick, I would never have figured it out. It's pretty easy, really if you have a slow cooker. Use chicken broth instead of water. Sweet (for me purple) potatoes, sweet onion, baby carrots and just a hint of garlic. The cabbage is not stinky or terrible but you only cook it for an hour or so and I like it.

I really out kicked my coverage on that one. 8 hours in the pot though, so we gotta plan ahead. Her mom uses a roasting pan and puts it in the oven like mine does with her roasts but I was the winner this year.
