Your whole first paragraph supports what i said about Schumer having anguished over the decision and that he was aware of how unpopular it would be.

"Think about this. Appox time: 2 weeks before the vote while the house worked on it, he said the bill was the worse he's ever seen and he can't support it. A week before the 14th he states he's going to vote for it, AFTER he knew all the dems tried to stop it in the house. Then 213 whatever dems of the senate told him not to support it and it was actually the dems last chance to fight the gop nazis by tanking it and forcing THEM to do something. And he stood there and watched 249 people show him by voting they were serious and he still helped the gop nazis. Why? Was it ego? Was it addled judgement? Was it a failure to act in the present and not 1988 or something."

Except your whys. My why is simple, because he decided after all the thought that a shutdown would be worse. That's what he said.

All of the above. What he lists as his reasons are NOT viable and they are his own opinions, no one else. He has no real experience of shutdowns as the ones he said he was in were settled quickly, so why would he say months and months. He also said day of and after the vote the this cr was basically criminal and dirty. He did it alone and dragged other weak dems into his decision.

Which of his reasons are not viable. Apparently the one about in a shutdown the courts would not be in play is very apparent and true. Musk wanted a shutdown is obviously a valid point not to give him one.

I think he showed strength in not giving Trump Musk and the others what they wanted. The others too.

No big deal here it's just as Schumer said, a disagreement between good people on this board.

It was Plato who said, “He, O men, is the wisest, who like Socrates, knows that his wisdom is in truth worth nothing”
