he did it because he deeply believed, unpopular as he knew it would be, his was the right decision

I don’t think he had a clue how wildly unpopular his decision would be. He needs to resign and hand the reigns over to someone who can actually inspire the party, because right now the dem approval ratings are in single digits I think.
