Buru Energy secures strategic deal for LNG development

Buru Energy Ltd CEO Thomas Nador talked with Proactive about the company’s newly announced strategic development agreement with Clean Energy Fuels Australia Pty Ltd (CEFA) to co-develop the Rafael Gas Project. Nador explained that CEFA brings strong midstream and downstream capabilities, backed by I Squared Capital, which manages around $40 billion in assets. "They bring the right credentials, to look after the downstream and midstream elements of the project," he said. Buru, meanwhile, will focus on the upstream side of the Rafael development. The deal is described as a “watershed moment” for the company, as it provides a clear pathway toward developing a long-term gas and condensate business in northwest Western Australia—an area currently dependent on imported energy. Under the agreement, CEFA will fund, build, and operate a small-scale LNG facility on-site, with Buru paying a processing fee over the life of the project. This significantly reduces Buru’s capital exposure to only the upstream infrastructure—namely, two wells, one of which is already in place. A final investment decision is expected in late 2025 or early 2026, with first cash flows anticipated in the second half of 2027. According to Nador, the projected annual free cash flow from the Rafael development is expected to surpass the company’s current market capitalization. Inspired PLC CEO Mark Dickinson breaks down FY24 highlights, net zero strategy

Inspired PLC (AIM:INSE) chief executive Mark Dickinson takes Proactive's Stephen Gunnion through the company's 2024 financial results, its ongoing mission to help clients reach net zero, and the outlook for 2025. Dickinson provided an overview of the group’s four complementary divisions: software, assurance, ESG, and optimisation. These work together to help Inspired’s B2B clients manage energy costs, comply with ESG reporting obligations, and implement real carbon reduction strategies. “The backdrop continues to be increasingly favourable for Inspired as we help those clients navigate their way through those challenges,” Dickinson said, citing continuing demand despite lower energy prices. FY24 was a year focused on strengthening the balance sheet. Dickinson said the company eliminated all contingent consideration liabilities, raised capital, and reduced net leverage from 2.59x to 1.47x adjusted EBITDA—giving the business a firmer platform for growth. The company’s non-financial KPIs also moved in a positive direction, with cross-selling increasing and more than 50% of optimisation clients returning for additional services. Inspired is now serving 420 clients with optimisation support. Looking ahead, Dickinson said trading in 2025 started in line with expectations, and the business is progressing well on previously delayed projects. Caledonia Mining sees big profit jump in 2024; welcomes gold's move above $3,000

Caledonia Mining Corporation PLC (AIM:CMCL, NYSE-A:CMCL) chief executive Mark Learmonth talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company’s strong 2024 financial performance and strategic priorities following the release of its latest results. Learmonth reported a “strong end to a reasonably good year,” with annual gold production reaching approximately 78,000 ounces—within guidance—supported by favourable pricing. He highlighted that “gross profit for the year was 77 million, compared to 41 million last year,” with adjusted earnings per share rising sharply from less than $0.10 in 2023 to nearly $1.30 in 2024. The results were delayed due to a technical accounting issue, with Learmonth explaining this stemmed from a deferred tax calculation error dating back to 2019. He stressed it had “no impact on our actual tax liabilities and tax payments.” On project development, the feasibility study for the Bilboes project has been extended to evaluate options that could significantly reduce capital costs. These include the potential to export concentrate and relocate the tailings facility, potentially lowering upfront investment needs. Exploration at both Blanket and Motapa returned positive results. Learmonth noted that the Blanket resource base has been extended, and early work at Motapa uncovered “exciting mineralisation” in new areas. Brazil Potash’s Autazes Project fully permitted, poised for construction

Brazil Potash CEO Matt Simpson joined Steve Darling from Proactive providing key updates on the company’s Autazes Potash Project in northwest Brazil. The project has successfully completed all necessary permitting milestones—including technical, environmental, indigenous, and public consultations—clearing the way for full-scale construction. Brazil, which currently imports 98% of its potash, remains heavily reliant on foreign supply. The Autazes Project is designed to address this dependency by supplying 2.4 million tonnes annually, equivalent to approximately 17% of the country’s current potash demand, all of which will be sold domestically. Simpson highlighted the project's cost advantages, emphasizing that because production is based in Brazil, the total cost of extraction, processing, and delivery is lower than the transportation cost alone for imported potash. The construction of the Autazes Project will follow a modular approach, with major components pre-assembled offsite—including in Manaus—and then transported via the Madeira River to mitigate potential weather-related risks. This approach ensures greater efficiency, productivity, and quality control throughout the construction phase. Brazil Potash has already secured key commercial agreements to support project financing. The company has signed an offtake agreement with Amaggi, one of Brazil’s largest soybean producers, for 550,000 tonnes over 15 to 17 years and a MOU with Keytrade, a major global agribusiness player, for an additional one million tonnes. These agreements play a pivotal role in ongoing debt financing discussions with banks and export credit agencies, further de-risking the project for potential investors.
