i understand everything you said and did. but i will add that any distribution from your roth to you will not effect ss at all or put you in a higher tax bracket. i've already had quite a few conversations with my cpa over the issue. reason being is because its tax free income from a non taxable source.

as far as doing this is concerned......you made the right choice.
