Possible reason, Trump could feel he needs him. Other than some
desire to keep a possible future threat close.

I think in some ways Trump has changed. Far more often than before, he seems confused. Just sits there when Elon appears and takes over. He makes one crazy announcement after another; says he's defunding more agencies every day; claims large numbers of people are being fired every day. At, say, the CDC as the avian flu advances, and the measles outbreak in Texas worsens.

But Musk is a real techie, right? He knows what he's doing!!

Not exactly. Seems his kiddos left the DOGE.gov website unlocked. Anyone could--and today, did--post stuff there. And we also have the classified information I referenced earlier.

What a TOTAL shitshow!!
