Commercial wars are never good (induced inflation, higher interest rates and reduced consumer spending, hence lower profits for companies, bear market, the whole vicious circle : running a country is not like -albeit successfully- running a casino business) and unfortunately demographics are playing against the US. Worst case scenario, 5 billion people will reconsider buying American goods, and I can tell you Europe is ready to get products normally bound for the US in a win win situation.
In the interim, Trump's son in law is securing a 1.5 billion dollars investment in an controversial estate project in Budapest with the far rightost Viktor Orban. I guess Putin promised him some deals in Moscow in exchange of dumping his support to Ukraine, and he is probably eyeing the Gaza riviera as a major estate opportunity. When self interest is above the presidential office, it does not look good.
If by chance you understand German, listen to Hitler's recorded speeches of 1939. Substitute Poland with Canada and Groenland, migrants by Jews and the rhetoric is frightingly the same. If not, just have a new read at Orwell's "Animal Farm" or "1984", or Brecht's "Resistible Ascension of Arturo Ui". I would be very glad to be wrong, but the world is not safer (and stupid Elon is not helping, and his son X (!) got his father's genes apparently, even Donald looked bothered)
