Maybe. But I wonder if pressure could be applied. All but the very stupid ones know things are going badly wrong.

The way they did with Nixon and Watergate. The Saturday Night Massacre. Driscoll's resistance at the FBI is reminiscent of that. Of course back then, we had more honorable people, though it didn't always seem so at the time. And even Nixon himself was way less dangerous than Trump.
