Worlds Inc has not been profitable for decades. Thom pushes out a "new thing" to appear like he is making a comeback every time he needs more money from the IP, to convince you suckers to pay up. Worlds Inc officially offered distributions of it's internal server software to business partners. Nobody hacked them. The official Worlds client still points to the original servers and that is where new users go, it is the responsibility of Worlds Inc to ensure it functions correctly. If the official servers do not function, the customers will go elsewhere. That is just common sense. Dubiously abusing copyright laws to avoid competing because you want to monopolize a 30+ year old platform is petty.

Additionally, according to Section 103(f), third-party unlicensed servers are legal when using unique software, which we do:
"Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (a)(1)(A), a person who has lawfully obtained the right to use a copy of a computer program (the Worlds client) may circumvent a technological measure that effectively controls access to a particular portion of that program for the sole purpose of identifying and analyzing those elements of the program that are necessary to achieve interoperability of an independently created computer program with other programs, and that have not previously been readily available to the person engaging in the circumvention, to the extent any such acts of identification and analysis do not constitute infringement under this title."

You are effectively saying the same thing as "Nintendo should DMCA all F-Zero fan games because they threaten Nintendo's nonexistent current offerings."

Not everything is about dollar signs. We have various backgrounds (many of us software engineers) more suited to understanding this company than you do. Ad-homming us for being "new" here does not amount to anything. You've been told the facts. Go home. You're drunk.
