I personally am not convinced that someone got caught in a major short position here, but I do know something for sure: Retail did not get HMBL out of it's toxic debt mess, but someone did. If I was a major player shorting sure things, this one would be an easy target two years ago. I can explain yesterday's price volume action without introducing conspiracy theories. I can't for the life of me explain how HMBL was able to get rid of it's massive toxic debt in record time. You apparently can't either.

As for, "it never happens, that would be illegal" line... I am pretty sure that Robinhood was charged with calling short positions assets and moving around tickets - blue sheets? I am thinking that is what Empress is suggesting. I won't vary my positions based on that theory, but I won't dismiss it out of hand either.
