How Leftist Billionaire Couple Came to Control Massive Amounts of California’s Water

50% of California’s water supply goes to environmental uses (and flows out into the ocean), 40% is used for agriculture, and the remaining 10% is for urban use.

The water that flows out of the Delta to protect the Delta is the largest use of water in California.

Stewart and Lynda Resnick are are the biggest farmers in California, owning 130,000 square acres; their companies that include Pom juice, Wonderful pistachio nuts, Halo mandarins, Teleflora flowers, Fiji water and more. They use a staggering 150 billion gallons of water on their California farms each year.

The Resnicks own a 57% stake in the Kern Water Bank Authority, which manages a series of reservoirs and pipes near Bakersfield, Calif., that can store up to about 488 billion gallons of water.
