TheFinalCD- I feel your pain. The stock has been incredibly volatile and the premiums on VKTX options are large.

As I stated in previous message #msg-175653273 , I think a buyout is likely by year end but that is not a given and VKTX could go it alone. The stock is heavily shorted and many do not believe VKTX is a good investment at these levels.

It remains a very volatile stock and it could dramatically rise or fall at any point. Everyone needs to consider the risk and do what is appropriate for their own risk tolerance.

Having said that, their are many catalysts coming this year (2025) for VKTX besides a acquisition announcement. Here are a few to consider that could move the stock positively:

• JPM Conference - (tomorrow Jan 13 and I wouldn't be surprised if Brian didn't want to make some waves )
  
• Announcement on CDMO partner
  
• PH3 SubQ init (1H25 but more toward early 2nQ25 IMO)
  
• PH2 Oral results (3rdQ25)
  
• Amlyin/DACRA ind (1H25)
  
• Partnership announcement(s) on either X-ALD or NASH (anytime)
  

Of course there are several more announcements by others that could take the stock down like a breakthrough small molecule study report or more Big pharma acquisitions of middling GLP1 small molecule knockoffs.
