I think they will retire the shares. Another real possibility is that they convert them into Preferred shares so that they still have ownership but remove them from the common so that it helps with the OS. This is what Sharp did and he taught Foote to do this as well. It would make sense that the new company would do the same since Foote is likely a main contributor to the entire plan.
