IONQ has less than $40 million revenue for the last 12 months, expects a loss of $.82 a share and does not expect to achieve any earnings during the foreseeable future. Where are the customers who are willing to spend money buying IONQ products, and why don’t they buy much, if anything? Are there any orders for IONQ products or services within the next 1, 2 or three years? The much hailed Air Force contract is for four years and no one has ever clarified what dollars, products or services will be delivered in each of those four years. Sounds more like a letter of intent than a contract for goods or services.

The biggest perma-bull on this thread seems to think that filing numerous patents is somehow going to generate revenue or prevent competitors from ever achieving any earnings. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Andy Grove didn’t believe in patents. Rather, he kept Intel 2 to 4 generations ahead of its competitors and didn’t make public how he was achieving that by filing patents. Nor did he run into extensive legal fees, attempting to protect those patents.

…. And it wasn’t until after he retired that Intel failed to retain command over most of the semiconductor space.
