I didn't say it was (his judgment) more sound but because he is high in gov't now the "narrative" is important that he and others will have and use going forward. So, as mentioned, with a good basis of facts to start with one could counter talking points as you know and do well. I posted to analyze what he said not his conspiratorial background, brain worm, sex addictions or any other irrelevant thing to conceptual thought (or in this case, more historical fact checking).

Sobering thought (from reading Ukrainian polls). If an overwhelming majority of people want something for their country and vote for it - the democratic ideals that you mentioned that are worth fighting for and it turns out to be what looks like submission it would be consistent with the paradoxical changing int'l order.
Cease fire in two months seems to be a consensus in those articles of experts for various reasons realpolitik.
