@blitzme99 10 months ago Howie listens to all of this information and then proceeds to throw it all away and falls back on dogma. This is core to the fundamental problem in both sides of our discourse. Even if you were presented with new information, that could change your mind, The people on your team that make money by keeping everyone divided will make damn sure that you retreat back to your corner. 684 Reply @sitindogmas 10 months ago 100% I'm old and cynical but I'm always down for the truth and changing my mind, it is what it is, how can we make it better 21 Reply @Android-Zen 10 months ago Some people find comfort in clinging to their beliefs and their cognitive bias is strong. 25 Reply @hihihihihello 10 months ago Tribalism is the biggest thing. Social structures, this is tribalism, the need to feel belonging amongst peers, this is an innate human characteristic. Religion plays off this it is tribalism. No real god ever said anybody was better than anybody else and no real God ever compelled anybody to kill anyone.
You will come in here agreeing with the original posters comment, but you will read my comment about religion and you will do the same thing that Howie Mandel is doing and fall back on your dogma= you just proved it's tribalism way to go. 9 Reply @hihihihihello 10 months ago You can still believe in a higher power and still have good morals and you don't need to belong to a cult or read an old book that's went through hundreds of alterations. Religion is tribalism. 3 Reply @benmills9693 10 months ago This is a spot on comment and needs to be paid attention to ....is anyone capable of hearing accurate detailed information and then changing their own view....even if that goes against the ideology of your inner friends circle ...The answer is it takes a strong minded intendent thinker...not a follower trying to fit in.
